Jaipur
Also known as the Pink City , Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state, India and was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Known as the pink city because it is built of pink stucco in sandstone imitation, the city has a population of more than 5 million people. It is approximately 260km away from the capital of India , Delhi , and is in close proximity to other cities. Jaipur has an interesting and prosperous history. In the 19 th century, the city grew swiftly and the spacious avenues were paved and lit with gas. By 1867 alone, the city had 3 colleges, a girls' school, several hospitals, a school of art and boasted metal and marble industries and an innovative community of bankers.
Jaipur has the honor of being the first planned city in India and is now a major business centre for all Rajasthan natives. Carrying all fundamentals of a metropolitan city, it also retains its culture in the architecture and festive streets. Visitors from all over the world come to visit the Ancient Testimonials in the form of monuments, the temples and gardens as well as famous structures such as the City Palace , Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal.
